Celebration of Lights is a holiday light display held at Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon, Missouri. Each scene is designed and funded by local organizations, churches and businesses. Started in 1991, the holiday event attracts more than 13,000 vehicles each year and more than 10,000 individuals during the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll.

Drive-through (Tickets must be purchased in advance!)
  • Buy your ticket, then redeem it on almost any evening through December 30, 2024. No reservations are needed!

  • Monday – Sunday, 6–9 p.m.
  • Ticket sales are final and non-transferable.
  • Please noteCelebration of Lights is closed to vehicles on December 2, 8, 9, 10 and 16. The entire display is closed on Christmas Day, December 25.

Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll

For three nights each year, Celebration of Lights is transformed for pedestrians. No vehicles are allowed. With fireworks over Lake Whetsel, a visit by Santa and his reindeer, sweet treats and hot drinks, these are truly magical evenings.

Reservations are required. Please make reservations at least two weeks in advance, if available.

  • Trolley Rides – Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays

    Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays, only! Time slots include 6 p.m., 7 p.m., & 8 p.m. Reservations are required.

    • Trolley Rides will operate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through the duration of Celebration of Lights with the following exceptions:
      • No Trolleys will be offered on December 3 or December 24
      • We will also offer rides on Wednesday, Dec 20 and Thursday, Dec 21
    • Admission: $15 per seat. A trolley can accomodate up to 30 passengers at a time.
    • All trolleys are completely enclosed and heatead with comfortable padded seats and large windows, offering great views of the lights! Trolleys will also be decorated and playing holiday music.
    • Please let us know if you have an ADA requirement and proper arrangements will be made to make your ride enjoyable.
    • For trolley rides, please park at Alligators Creek Aquatic Center located at 403 Civic Park Dr. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled ride to allow time for loading.
    • Snacks and drinks are permitted, but please no popcorn or alcohol. Please keep all beverages in a sealeable container.
    • Trolley rides can also be scheduled by calling 636-474-2732.

    Refund policy found in Parks & Rec Guide. No refunds or credits will be given less than 7 days before the start of the reserved ride. A service fee $5 or 10% (whichever is greater) will apply to refunds initiated by the customer.

  • Hayrides – Monday through Thursday

    Monday through Thursday (except December 9, 10, & 24) at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m.

    • Rides are booked in one-hour time slots.
    • This is a tractor-pulled wagon that is hay-filled and decorated for the holiday season.
    • It can accommodate 20 passengers at a time.
    • Cost is $150
    • Please let us know if you have an ADA requirement and proper arrangements will be made to make your ride enjoyable.
    • Please enter Fort Zumwalt Park from the Plackemeier Drive entrance. Carpooling is highly recommended, as parking is limited.

    Riders are encouraged to bring blankets for extra warmth. Book a ride by calling the O'Fallon Parks & Recreation Department at 636-474-2732.

  • City Train Rides – Monday, December 2 and December 16, only

    Monday, December 2 and December 16, only! Time slots include 5:45, 6:15, 6:45, 7:15, 7:45 8:15 and 8:45 p.m. Reservations are required. To schedule your ride, call 636-474-2732.

    • Admission: $75 per train car, which can accommodate up to five adults and five children
    • For train rides, please enter Fort Zumwalt Park from the Plackemeier Drive entrance.

    Rides are approximately 20 minutes. Riders are encouraged to bring blankets for extra warmth.
